Dr Geeta Malkan Billa is working as a consultant Hepatologist (Liver specialist), liver transplant physician and Gastroenterologist at Dr L H Hiranandani Hospital.

After having completed her initial training in Gastroenterology, Dr Geeta Billa perused her primary interest in hepatology (liver diseases) and Liver transplantation.

She completed a 2-year fellowship program in the University of Toronto –Toronto General Hospital, one of the premier institutes in North America.

After returning to India she has been a consultant at foremost institutes in Mumbai: Bombay hospital, Fortis and Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital before joining as a consultant at Dr L H Hiranandani Hospital.

To her credit are a large number of publications and presentations in national and international peer-reviewed journals.

Her areas of interest include Viral Hepatitis B and C, alcoholic and Non- alcoholic fatty liver disease and liver cancers.

Her expertise includes taking care of cirrhosis and end-stage liver disease patients and liver transplant patients.

In addition to this professional commitment, academics and teaching have always received a priority and she was involved in post-graduate gastroenterology teaching program at Nair hospital and at KEM hospital for many years.
