Dr. Joy Varghese is a distinguished Hepatologist and Liver Transplant Surgeon with 28 years of experience in his field.

He has successfully performed over 1500 liver transplantations throughout his career.

His areas of expertise include the management of Chronic Hepatitis B, Chronic Hepatitis C, and Hepatocellular Carcinoma.

He completed his MBBS in 1996 and his MD in 2004, followed by a DM in Gastroenterology from Madurai Medical College in 2007.

Additionally, Dr. Varghese pursued a Fellowship in Liver Transplantation at University Hospital, Essen, Germany.

Dr Varghese was honoured with the Levy Thompson Award for the best clinical research paper and received an International Travel Grant to attend the Canadian Digestive Disease Week in Banff, Canada.

He has published over 100 papers in national and international journals and authored four book chapters.

Dr. Varghese is an active member of several prestigious organisations, including the Association of Physicians of India, the Indian Society of Gastroenterology, the Indian National Association of Study of Liver Disease, the International Club of Ascites, the European Association of Study of Liver Disease, the Liver Transplantation Society of India, and the International Liver Transplantation Society.
