Dr Prakash has completed his MBBS from University of Calicut, MS (Surgery) from Medical College, Baroda. Following which he did his Mch (Surgical Gastroenterology) from Medical College Trivandrum.

He has done his AFSA (Attestation de Formation Specialisee Approfondie) at University of Pierre et Curie , Paris

Certificate course in training of Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery at Kyungpook National University, Taegy, S.Korea.

Dr Prakash has successfully performed over 16000 open GI Surgery procedures & over 5000 GI Laparoscopic procedures.

His unit has performed maximum number of colonic & rectal resection for benign lesions and for cancer in the state.

Dr Prakash is the first surgeon to perform single incision laparoscopic cholecystectomy and single incision laparoscopic colorectal resection in Kerala.
