Dr. Subrat Kumar Acharya is a renowned Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist with over 38years of experience.

His areas of expertise include acute and chronic liver failure, primary liver cancer, viral hepatitis, and transplant hepatology.

He completed his MBBS at Berhampur University in 1975. He then pursued his MD in General Medicine from Utkal University, Orissa, India, graduating in 1980.

He further specialized with a DM in Gastroenterology from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, in 1982.

Dr. Acharya has been honoured with several prestigious awards for his contributions to gastroenterology and hepatology, including the Padma Shree in 2014.

Other notable awards include the Samanta Chandrasekhar Award, JC Bose Award, Mitra Olympus Endoscopy Award, P N Berry Award, Commonwealth Medical Fellowship Award, Om Prakash Memorial Award, and the Best Young Investigator Award by the Asia-Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver.

Dr. Acharya has published approximately 300 research papers in indexed international and national journals.

He is an active member of multiple esteemed organizations, including the Indian Society of Gastroenterology, Indian Association for the Study of Liver, Research Forum for Digestive Diseases, American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, International Association for the Study of the Liver, and the Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver.
